Nick Kyrgios Rips Sascha Zverev: ‘How Selfish Can You Be?’

Nick Kyrgios isn’t holding back when it comes to Sascha Zverev and COVID-19.

Video surfaced of Zverev, ranked No. 7 in the world on the ATP Tour, out partying and dancing at a crowded club even after saying he would self-isolate for 14 days in the wake of several players testing positive on the Adria Tour.

“I deeply apologize to anyone that I have put at risk…I will proceed to follow self-isolating guidelines…stay safe,” Zverev had said last week.

Zverev was not among those who tested positive, while world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric and Viktor Troiki all did. Djokovic’s coach, Goran Ivanisevic, also tested positive.

In a video posted to Instagram, Kyrgios blasted the German tennis star:

“I see more controversial things happening around the world, but one thing that stuck out for me was seeing Sasha Zverev, again man, again. How selfish can you be? How selfish can you be?

“If you have the audacity to put out a tweet that you made your management f—-ing write on your behalf saying you’re going to self-isolate for 14-days, and apologising to the general public for putting their health at risk – at least have the f—-ing audacity to stay inside for 14 days. My god.

“This tennis world’s pissing me off, seriously. How selfish can you all get?”

Kyrgios, known for his abusive and wild behavior on the tennis court, has somehow become the voice of reason in the men’s tennis world during the pandemic. The world’s No. 40 ranked player previously ripped Djokovic and the other players for partying at clubs in Europe on the Adria Tour, and has also called Americans “selfish” for wanting to proceed with the U.S. Open amid the pandemic.
