Photos: Kids In Spain Play Outdoors For First Time Since March 14; Here’s What That Looks Like

TOPLINE

Starting Sunday, children in Spain under the age of 14 are allowed one hour of playtime with parent supervision; the first time the country has allowed children outside their homes since the country’s strict lockdown began on March 14.

KEY FACTS

Children are allowed to go no further than half a mile from their homes between 9am and 9pm .

Bikes, skateboards and rollerblades are permitted for play, but public parks remain closed.

Children over 13 are allowed to go on errands with their parents.

Depending, in part, on the success of this effort, the Spanish government will consider further lifting lockdown measures in the second half of May, according to BBC.

With nearly 23,000 reported COVID-19 deaths, Spain is the third hardest-hit country behind Italy and the United States.
