“It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight. He was not just my brother, he was my best friend,” the president said in a statement.

President Donald Trump visited his brother at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center on Friday, telling reporters before his visit, “He’s having a hard time. I have a wonderful brother. We’ve had a great relationship for a long time, from day one.”

Robert Trump was reportedly very sick for several months, CNN reported, but his illness is unknown.
