Social Media App LIVIT Gives Artists A New Way To Perform While Distancing

During the Coronavirus, performers can’t do the one thing they live to do — perform. Many turn to social media platforms to stay in touch with their fans to keep their music, dance or other live shows out into he world.

Artists use platforms from Zoom to YouTube to Instagram to go live with shows or to save promotional videos to push their abilities. In the era of COVID-19 quarantine, such resources are the only way to release material. Now, the new app LIVIT  looks to change the way that artists, entertainers, models, dancers and others share content “by giving them a platform to stream long-form live videos, grow their careers and generate revenue.”

LIVIT lets users support their favorite streamers by giving them virtual gifts and points that can be used by the artists to unlock career-advancing experiences such as ad campaigns, trips and cash. All streamers on LIVIT can make money from content without having to post sponsored ads. They receive up to 40% of the proceeds from their fans in addition to bonuses from the app. Reports from LIVIT say streamers can potentially make between $500-$20,000 each month.

The social media matches each streamer with a talent manager who works with them to curate their content and find their niche. Once the artist begins posting, they gain access to more than 300,000 viewers looking to discover fresh, favorite talent. Through real-time fan interaction, streamers create valuable connections to jumpstart their careers.

The app model started in Japan with the 17 Media perform. That Asian version now has more than 40 million users.
