Casino Brands Team Up to Increase Their Power in Ontario

The iGaming industry, a mainstay in the European sphere, has continuously looked West for new opportunities and markets. Luckily, the US opened its doors in 2018 while the coveted Canadian market paved the way in April 2022, but why is the land of Maple syrup such a hotcake for iGaming operators?

Ontario, home to the metropolises of Ottawa and Toronto, boasts at least 15 million people and is the lynchpin of Canada. Previously, operators teased their way into the Canadian market by offering few options and a limited number of games, courtesy of Ontario’s stringent regulations and licensing agreements.

However, with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) opening new space for casinos, several brands have obtained licenses allowing smooth operation within Ontario’s regulatory framework.

Testament to the new changes, gaming technology provider Playtech has partnered with gaming brand Mansion, with the former aiming to launch in the Ontario market. The partnership entails Mansion going online with its mansioncasino.com and casino.com brands, with Playtech’s IMS platform providing the necessary backend support to the company.

With approval from AGCO and iGO, Mansion is confident it’ll contribute to the growth of the Ontario casino market while promoting safe and responsible gambling. Meanwhile, Playtech aims to introduce its catalog to new players and venture into new markets.

Apart from the Mansion and Playtech collaboration, other famous iGaming brands are teaming up to fasten their penetration in the Ontario market. Super Group, NorthStar Gaming, Bet365, Kambi, and Kings Media Limited are some of the names taking up collaborations to venture into the Ontario casino scene.

Pragmatic Play, famous for the Wolf Gold, Doghouse and Chilli Heat iGaming titles, isn’t slacking off with its new exciting collaboration with NorthStar Gaming. Under the NorthStar Bets brand, NorthStar Gaming will boost its portfolio with several Pragmatic games. Casino players can expect to see Gate of Olympus, Sugar Rush and Big Bass Splash under the NorthStar moniker.

The NorthStar Bets brand, being tailor-made for Ontario bettors, offers a unique setup for the locals. Its joint venture with Pragmatic Play will only enhance its reputation in the local market.

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) joins hands with Kings Media Limited, managers of the famed King Billy casino brand over various website markets, marking its entry into the Ontario scene.

With its experience in maneuvering fast-growing and highly regulated jurisdictions, GiG will offer its award-winning platform as part of the deal.

On the other hand, Kings Media Ltd will leverage its understanding of the casino arena to propel the brand towards success in the local scene.

Bet365 and Bayes Esports have boosted their iGaming coverage by partnering to enter the Canadian market. The two operators aim to bring a new sports betting experience to Ontario punters, although with a focus on video gaming, a strong fort for Bayes Esports.

Bayes Esports recently became a verified supplier of odds in Colorado and New Jersey after entering the market with Bet365. It was only a matter of time before Ontario was the next stop.

Brands will aim to enter new markets and take up the opportunities available, and casino brands are no exception. Certain areas will have strict guidelines for operation, and the emerging trend of casinos teaming up is one way of penetrating new markets.
