Council Post: Is Intention The Key To Achieving Success?

Born in Iran and based in Norway, Fariba Rahimi is a model, realtor and founder of a construction & building maintenance company.

Society has trained us to live in a pragmatic way in which a routine is one of the most essential ingredients to achieve our goals. Although we cannot deny the importance of following a certain level of routine, we also have to acknowledge that breaking society’s rules with intention can have a bigger impact. Society tells us that the traditional path to success means working for a trusted company until you can retire, but the entrepreneurial generation is challenging this standard.

My own journey started at the age of 16 when I moved from my home country of Iran to start a new life in Norway. I started working with a modeling agency when I was 22 years old, but after two years, I left modeling to focus on my education. I continued my education in nursing and worked for some years in a hospital.

After struggling every day, working more than 18 hours per day and sleeping in my car, I started my own construction and real estate company at the age of 28. After devoting 11 years of hard work to my company, it earned a yearly revenue of $1 million and employing over 40 employees.

After my company was stable and successful, I made a comeback to the fashion world at the age of 38 while looking after my company from afar. I campaigned with Versace for three years, which went on to be one of the most important campaigns of my life. Now, I get invitations to work in the film industry, and I’m looking forward to making an entrance in the film industry. I have sacrificed every day of my life to achieve my goals.

The younger generation is now realizing that building a business can provide a better lifestyle, but a business cannot become successful unless you master certain skills. There are two skills that every entrepreneur must develop in order to crisis-proof their business. Once you master these skills, your business can weather the storms even in the face of a bad economy. The best part is that anybody can develop these skills without a university degree. The skills are intention and sales.

Successful entrepreneurs often talk about the importance of sales. In fact, I believe mastering sales is more important than setting goals or following a routine. With this skill, a person can move through life influencing and winning. It is at the heart of a successful business.

Anybody can master this skill, but first they have to set the right intentions. Knowing how to sell is powerful, but the industry has a bad reputation for a reason. Once a person is good at selling, they have the power to influence. This is why it is important to set the right intentions to use this skill to positively impact the world.

Setting the right intentions also helps individuals get in the right mindset. Sales is an industry full of rejection. It can be the most difficult yet rewarding part of business. Knowing that anyone can master this skill is step one, but committing to it despite the roller coaster of emotions that will follow is significant.

Get started.

Reading self-development books can allow you to see the world from a different perspective and help you master the two simple skills that will enable you to enter a new world of possibilities. Getting a job in sales and finding a mentor can completely change your life. Later, you can aim to change the lives of young people who are in the same situation you once were.

I believe anyone can achieve anything and become financially independent if they can master the art of sales and intent. You can attain success and financial growth, but it is important to understand that staying focused and committed to what you want is nonnegotiable.

How can you use the power of intent to influence your life?

When it comes down to it, follow these three steps:

1. Decide what you want in life, and be specific about it. Is being one of the most successful entrepreneurs of the year what you want? Do you want to own a company? Do you want to make $1 million in the next five weeks through online sales and marketing? Even if these goals sound crazy, write them down, and decide they are what you want. You need to create your ideal life in your head first.

2. Be clear on why you want your goals. Without a strong why, you will not get there. Knowing your why helps you connect to the power of your intention.

3. Visualize your success. You need to believe you can achieve your goals. You have to visualize your success as a reality; that way, your actions will follow, and you can start creating the life of your dreams.

If you are ready to take control of your success and change the course of your life, you can. To start, all you need is a mentor and some guidance. You can read numerous books to help you — just make the intention, and you will get there. Until you get clear on your goals, the path to your success will not open. You have to believe it is possible for you, in the same way it was possible for every successful individual out there.

Do not underestimate the power of intention.

I hope this piece helps you realize the power of intention. If you think this is not realistic, then think again. Every successful person in history mastered the power of their intentions. You can, too.
