Eckert is best known as the founder of Sprout Pharmaceuticals, the company behind the controversial female libido drug Addyi. Pharmacuetical giant Valeant bought Sprout for $1 billion one day after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the drug. Valeant later sold it back to former Sprout shareholders. Eckert founded The Pink Ceiling, which invests in companies started by women.
