The Best New Movies Available To Stream This Week

Come Sunday, our favorite streaming platforms—which includes Netflix
NFLX
, Amazon
AMZN
Prime, Hulu and HBO Max—will unleash a wave of new movies. The month of November will give us dozens of new movies options to sift through.

But there are still plenty of new movies that will be added to those platforms over these last few days of October—and that includes this week. And instead of listing out every new option that will be available to you this week, I decided to pick out the most exciting new movie options hitting the four biggest streamers this week.

So here are eight movies worth checking out:

Holidate (Netflix)

Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey star in this romantic comedy in which two strangers agree to be each other’s platonic plus-ones all year long. Naturally, they start to catch real feelings along the way.

Holidate will be available to stream on Netflix on October 28.

John Lewis: Good Trouble (HBO Max)

This documentary takes a look at the life of Rep. John Lewis, who fought for civil rights, voting rights, gun control, health care reform and immigration.

John Lewis: Good Trouble will be available to stream on HBO Max on October 27.

Battle: Los Angeles (Amazon Prime)

In the world of Battle: Los Angeles, mankind is under attack from aliens. One by one, the world’s great cities fall, leaving Los Angeles as the battleground for humanity’s last stand.

Battle: Los Angeles will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on October 27.

Bad Therapy (Hulu)

Bob and Susan decide to visit see a marriage counselor to improve their relationship. However, their counselor’s dark impulses end up bringing Bob and Susan’s marriage to the breaking point.

Bad Therapy will be available to stream on Hulu on October 29.

Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight (Netflix)

Netflix keeps up its scary movie lineup with Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight, in which a group of technology-dependent teenagers goes to offline camp and faces a deadly danger lurking in the woods.

Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight will be available to stream on Netflix on October 28.

It Chapter Two (HBO Max)

A follow-up to the hit horror film It, the sequel follows the members of the Losers’ Club, who return to their hometown 27 years after defeating the evil clown Pennywise—a creature that has returned to terrorize once again.

It Chapter Two will be available to stream on HBO Max on October 27.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting (Amazon Prime & Hulu)

The challenges of impending parenthood turn the lives of five couples—which includes two unprepared celebrities, a baby-crazy author, and two people forced to deal with an unwanted pregnancy—upside down.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting will be available to stream on Amazon Prime and Hulu on October 26.

Guillermo Vilas: Settling the Score (Netflix)

This documentary tells the story of tennis legend Guillermo Vilas, who for more than 40 years demanded a revision of the rankings so he’d be recognized as number one in the world.

Guillermo Vilas: Settling the Score will be available to stream on Netflix on October 27.
