These Eleven Republicans Voted To Remove Marjorie Taylor Greene From Committees

The House members, according to CNN and Politico, are: Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.), Carlos Gimenez (R-Fla.), John Katko (R-N.Y.), Young Kim (R-Calif.), Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.), Chris Jacobs (R-N.Y.), Maria Salazar (R-Fla.), Chris Smith (R- N.J.) and Fred Upton (R-Mich.).

A spokesperson for Kinzinger told Forbes in a statement that he believes the QAnon conspiracy theory has “no place in Congress,” and Greene’s past endorsement of political violence is “not compatible” with the values of the House or the GOP.

Katko was more demure about his reasoning, telling reporters he “looked at the facts and circumstances” like he did when he was a prosecutor and “made a decision accordingly,” adding that it was a last-minute decision and he’s not sure if he’ll face backlash, according to pool reports.

Diaz-Balart tweeted that Greene’s past comments are “unacceptable” while stating Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and former Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) should’ve received the “same treatment.”

Salazar said her vote was to hold Greene “accountable” for her past denial of the Parkland shooting and the Flight 77 crash, as well as her belief that a laser funded by a Jewish banking family caused the California wildfires, arguing “everyone in Congress must be held to the same high standard.”

Malliotakis, the only House Republican from New York City, said her vote was based on Greene’s comments that were “extraordinarily offensive and hurtful to thousands of 9/11 families and first responders, our Jewish community and many others in my district.”
