Tory Lanez And The Strokes Hit The Top 10 While The Weeknd Rules For A Fourth Week

Thanks to a fairly quiet week on the Billboard 200 when it comes to new releases challenging for the top spot, The Weeknd maintains his hold over the most important albums list in the U.S. once again. The Canadian musician’s latest full-length After Hours keeps at No. 1 for a fourth consecutive turn having shifted another 75,000 equivalent units.

After Hours is the first album to reign over the Billboard 200 for four weeks in a row since the summer of 2018 when Drake’s Scorpion managed to do so for five frames. While The Weeknd’s new set is still performing extremely well, it looks like the successful run atop the ranking may come to a close next week when DaBaby’s semi-surprise new release Blame It on Baby will likely take the top spot.

The highest-ranking debut this frame comes from hip-hop and R&B talent Tory Lanez, who debuts a new title inside the upper reaches of the Billboard 200 once again. His latest project, a mixtape titled The New Toronto 3, opens at No. 2 thanks to 64,000 equivalent units shifted. That sum includes just 5,000 pure sales. Lanez has now broken into the top 10 on the ranking with five efforts.

So far, none of the singles pushed from the mixtape have made a serious commercial impact in the U.S., but that’s not to say they won’t this frame thanks to healthy streams.

Steady at Nos. 3 and 4 this frame are two “lil” musicians, Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Baby, with their most recent albums Eternal Atake and My Turn, respectively.

Back inside the top five on the Billboard 200 is Bad Bunny’s YHLQMDLG, which steps up to No. 5 this week. Also gaining ground this time around is Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding, which advances to No. 6, coming in right ahead of Roddy Ricch’s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial.

The Strokes return to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 after a seven-year absence with their latest album The New Abnormal, which debuts at No. 8 with 35,000 equivalent units. That number includes 23,000 pure sales, which helped ensure it started off inside the loftiest area on the chart. Like Lanez not far above them, The Strokes have now hit the tier on the chart with five studio releases, and none of the singles from this new full-length have appeared on the Hot 100, although that’s not odd for the rockers.

The final two titles inside the uppermost region fall from where they ranked last week, with Rod Wave’s Pray 4 Love descending from No. 2 to No. 9 while Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia slides to tenth place.
