Travis Scott, Juice WRLD And Megan Thee Stallion: 5 Important Moves On This Week’s Hot 100

As four women battle it out to see who will claim the No. 1 spot on next week’s Hot 100 (it is currently between Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé versus Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj), a brand new hip-hop tune blasts onto the ranking as high as one can climb. Quite a few other releases in the same genre also find their way to the tally as well.

Here’s a look at five of the most important moves on this week’s Hot 100 singles chart.

No. 1 – The Scotts, Travis Scott & Kid Cudi – “The Scotts”

Travis Scott and Kid Cudi have collaborated before, but now they’ve taken their working relationship to the next level by forming a superduo named The Scotts. As a new band they have scored a huge win right out of the gate with a self-titled song. “The Scotts” debuts atop the Hot 100, becoming one of fewer than 40 cuts to do so in the history of the Hot 100.

In addition to landing another No. 1 hit (his third), Scott claims three other spots on the chart this time around, with his own “Highest in the Room” and “Goosebumps” landing at Nos. 38 and 49, respectively. Further down, Jackboys’ (Scott’s other group) “Out West” with Young Thug comes in at No. 60.

No. 4 – Megan Thee Stallion – “Savage”

In an attempt to make “Savage” the biggest hit of her career, Megan Thee Stallion reached out to Beyoncé to work on the remix, which has quickly become a major win. Currently, the track is up to No. 4, and though it doesn’t feature the Queen, it likely will next week, at which point a full tracking frame will have passed. The tune, Stallion’s first top 10, seems to be on its way to running the show.

No. 11 – Juice WRLD – “Righteous”

In the months since he died, Juice WRLD’s music has continued to perform well, and a few new tracks featuring him have been released, but this latest single is different. “Righteous” is the rapper’s first solo cut release since his passing, and fans streamed and purchased it in great enough numbers to make it debut at No. 11. The tune is his tenth top 40.

No. 39 – Carly Pearce & Lee Brice – “I Hope You’re Happy Now”

Country talent Carly Pearce lands her fist top 40 hit on the Hot 100 this week, but only just barely. The singer’s “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” a duet with Lee Brice, climbs to No. 39, hitting a new high in the process. The cut, featured on her recently released self-titled sophomore album, is Brice’s fifth track to enter the important region on the chart.

No. 83 – YoungBoy Never Broke Again – “Ain’t Easy”

As his new album 38 Baby 2 starts its time on the Billboard 200 at No. 1, YoungBoy Never Broke Again lays claim to five rungs on the Hot 100. “Ain’t Easy” is the highest-ranking of the debuts, starting at No. 83, and the other four aren’t far behind.

Down at Nos. 86, 90, 92 and 99 are “Diamonds,” “Bout My Business” with Sherhonda Gaulden, “Rough Ryder” and “Thug of Spades” with DaBaby, respectively.
