UFC 249 Stats Preview: Head-To-Head Look At Francis Ngannou Vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik

0

Two of the heaviest hitters in the UFC heavyweight division meet on the UFC 249 pay-per-view card when former title challenger Francis Ngannou faces the unbeaten Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Ngannou, who is the No. 2 ranked fighter in the official UFC heavyweight rankings, opened his MMA career on an 11-1 run. His devastating knockout win over Alistair Overeem in December 2017 earned him a shot at heavyweight titleholder Stipe Miocic. Miocic won that fight by lopsided decision. Ngannou followed that defeat with another setback to Derrick Lewis.

Since those two losses, Ngannou has returned to his heavy-handed ways. He is currently on a three-fight winning streak. Each of those fights ended with Ngannou scoring a first-round knockout. The longest of those contests lasted 71 seconds. Ngannou has 10 knockout wins.

Rozenstruik, who is ranked No. 6 in the heavyweight division, has fought four times for the UFC since February 2019. Each of his UFC triumphs has come via knockout. Rozenstruik scored a nine-second knockout of Allen Crowder in his second bout with the UFC. His most recent outing came in December when he knocked out Overeem in the fifth round of their UFC on ESPN 7 matchup. Rozenstruik has won nine fights by knockout and one via decision.

Expect this matchup to take place on the feet. Neither of these men have attempted a takedown during their time with the UFC.

Before Ngannou and Rozenstruik face off, here is a look at how their UFC career stats compare.
