UFC 250: Card, Date, Odds, And Location Info

Dana White is persistent, and according to multiple reports, the UFC will return to action on May 9.

White was forced to back off from hosting UFC 249 on April 18 at the Tachi Palace in Lemoore, California after receiving pushback from Disney and ESPN, but he has apparently received enough assurance to move forward with rescheduling the event for May 9.

It’s unclear if this event is going to be called UFC 249 or UFC 250, which was scheduled to take place on this date in Sao Paulo, Brazil. However, barring another last-minute monkey wrench, the world’s top MMA promotion will be back in business next month.

Location Info

The location of the event is officially “to be determined.”

However, there is strong indication the UFC’s return will take place in the state of Florida. On the strength of the new essential business speficifications that began with WWE, and are now moving into the combat sports realm, the door is wide open for boxing and MMA to resume in Florida in May.

The additions to the essential services list that pertain directly to WWE, MMA, and boxing, read as followed:

Employees at a professional sports and media production with a national audience – including any athletes, entertainers, production team, executive team, media team and any others necessary to facilitate including services supporting such production – only if the location is closed to the public.

Essential Services Additions List from Florida State Coordinating Officer

The UFC’s Apex has been mentioned as a possible sie, but up to this point, the state of Nevada has not signed off on fan-less events. That leaves Florida as the only known option.

A formal announcement is likely coming, unless there is another late hiccup.
