UFC On ESPN+ 31: Final Betting Odds For Derek Brunson Vs. Edmen Shahbazyan Fight Card

The UFC is in Las Vegas for tonight’s UFC on ESPN+ 31 fight card. The event takes place at UFC Apex.

The evening’s main event is an intriguing one. In that contest, Derek Brunson faces Edmen Shahbazyan in an important middleweight scrap.

Shahbazyan is a rising 22-year-old, who has a perfect 11-0 record. Four of those victories have come with the UFC including his past three victories. Shahbazyan’s three recent wins have all come via first-round stoppage. Shahbazyan is the No. 9 ranked fighter in the official UFC middleweight rankings.

Brunson joined the UFC in 2012. At the time, Brunson had a 9-2 record. Today, the 36-year-old is 20-7. Brunson has only lost to fighters at the top of the 185-pound division: Israel Adesanya, Ronaldo Souza, Anderson Silva and Robert Whittaker. He is currently ranked No. 8 and on a two-fight winning streak.

In the co-main event, Joanne Calderwood faces Jennifer Maia in the women’s flyweight division. Calderwood was in the running for a title shot, but with the champion, Valentina Shevchenko, dealing with an injury, Calderwood elected to step in to face Maia after Maia’s original opponent, Viviane Araujo tested positive for COVID-19.
