UFC On ESPN+ 39 Full Fight Video: Watch Uriah Hall Knock Out Gegard Mousasi

When Uriah Hall first faced Gegard Mousasi, Mousasi was on a two-fight winning streak and the No. 6 ranked fighter in the UFC middleweight division. Hall, who was unranked at the time, was coming off a first-round TKO win over Oluwale Bamgbose.

The odds had Mousasi as a huge favorite. He came in at -625 over Hall, who was +400 for the 2016 matchup.

Mousasi, the much more experienced fighter scored an easy takedown in the early going of the 185-pound scrap. Mousasi then did a great job of passing the guard of his opponent and took side control before landing back in Hall’s guard after he failed to pass to full mount.

Mousasi heavily pressured Hall on the mat and tried to pass the guard of his opponent while landing some heavy ground strikes. Hall was active from his back and looked for a kimura with 90 seconds left in the first stanza.

Mousasi broke free and again looked to advance to mount, which he did. Hall then gave up his back. From there, Hall secured a body lock and attempted a rear-naked choke, which Hall was able to defend as the round expired.

Five seconds into the second stanza, Hall surprised everyone when he unloaded a spinning kick that staggered Mousasi. From there, Hall landed a flying knee and ground strikes to end the fight 25-seconds into the second round.

Today, Hall is the No. 10 ranked middleweight in the UFC. He faces Anderson Silva in the main event of tonight’s UFC on ESPN+ 39 fight card.

Before that event, watch Hall’s impressive stoppage of Mousasi.

UFC on ESPN+ 39 takes place tonight from UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The entire fight card streams on ESPN+.
