There’s a new trailer for Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us Part 2 set to drop in less than half an hour.

The studio tweeted a teaser for the trailer on Twitter yesterday:

This comes not long after hackers released some major leaks for the video game after it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Naughty Dog didn’t postpone the game very long, however, pushing it back from May 29th to June 19th.

We’ve seen bits and pieces of the game over the past few years, including both story and gameplay. This will likely be one of the last trailers we see before launch.

So that’s the official story trailer and it certainly does a good job at piquing interest. Ellie is all cold and bloodthirsty. The trailer showcases both the game’s extraordinary graphics and its extraordinary violence.

Some time ago, game director Neil Druckmann told a panel that The Last Of Us 2 “is a story about hate.” That certainly looks to be the case.

“If the first game was really about the love between these two characters, this story is the counter of that,” Druckmann said. “This is story is about hate, through Ellie this time. The first game you play as Joel, this game you play as Ellie.”

The Last Of Us Part II comes out on June 19th. I think it might be time to replay the first game.

P.S. I know that there’s a bunch of controversy surrounding this game—hence comments and likes/dislikes being disabled on the video—especially following the recent leaks and various Naughty Dog controversies that have piled up over the years. I’m choosing not to join the fray on this one until I’ve played the game.
