WWE Hell In A Cell 2020 Results: Roman Reigns Beats Jey Uso Amid Rumors Of Heel ‘Bloodline’ Stable

Hell in a Cell in another emotional and gripping contest as Jey Uso uttered the words “I Quit” to get Reigns to release his Guillotine Choke of Jimmy Uso. The current WWE Universal champion continues to roll as the promotion’s top heel in what is quickly becoming an all-time Universal title reign.

Reigns destroyed his cousin last month at Clash of Champions, and as he continues to pull rank within his family he secured a second definitive victory in an “I Quit” Match.

Per the current storyline, The Usos have been excommunicated from the legendary Anoa’i family, however recent reports suggest Jey could resurface as an ally of Roman Reigns, whose already compelling heel character could be improved with an Anoa’i stable.

“It’s not known when Jey will side with Reigns, but the idea is for it to be a “if you can’t beat them, join them” situation where Reigns will be the Tribal Chief and Jey will be his henchman,” reported Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc.

“The storyline will be that Reigns is the provider and Jey needs to be able to provide for his family so he will essentially fall in line with him.”

Reigns and The Usos were longtime allies throughout Reigns’ babyface run as the three unofficially formed the Bloodline stable. At its height, the trio opposed AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson during a feud that spanned multiple pay-per-views in WWE Payback 2016 and WWE Extreme Rules that same year.

Jey Uso recently told Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT that he would be on board with a potential heel Bloodline stable.

“The Bloodline will come on and off. That will always be there,” said Uso.

“But imagine us running that thing full-blown – and I would love to be heel – a heel faction. Hell yeah, bro! I wanna see some Samoan Swat Team 2.0 type of things, man. It’s written by itself, right?”

It’s worth noting that Jey Uso joining forces with Reigns would contradict a major stipulation from tonight’s Universal Championship match. This would also continue WWE’s trend of controversial decisions coming out of Hell in a Cell as the past two Hell in a Cell main events ended with non-finishes. With WWE continuing to struggle in developing babyfaces, The Usos turning heel would only exasperate these issues.

But Jey Uso returning to the Anoa’i Tribe, with hat in hand, as a subordinate heel to his cousin would only strengthen Reigns’ stature as Head of the Table. It would also serve as a juicy plot twist while actually making sense in storyline purposes since Jey Uso’s only way back into the family is to acknowledge Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief.

During the WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 kickoff show, Paul Heyman noted a Roman Reigns victory would result in Jey Uso doing Reigns’ bidding, which also plays into the idea of a future heel stable.

With whispers of a heel Bloodline stable dating back to September, Reigns can continue his stronghold atop the SmackDown main event with a little help from his family.
