Roman Reigns def. Jey Uso—WWE Universal Championship Inside Hell in a Cell

Roman Reigns donned a golden glove that looked eerily similar to the one Thanos wears. It was perfect for this character.

This match continued the theme from last month as the two cousins started off with heated trash talk.

Roman Reigns telling Jey Uso “I will end you…” in the same tone a parent tells their kid “I’m warning you…” was so savage.”

This match did not need to be competed inside Hell in a Cell. The trash-talk alone was enough to make it intriguing, and it eventually turned into a Strap Match.

The referee was a little too pushy when it came to asking Jey Uso if he quits, at one point insisting “all you gotta do is say ‘I Quit!’”

Elias def. Jeff Hardy by Disqualification

There was no way this match was ever going to follow Roman Reigns inside Hell in a Cell.

It’s too early for these two to even have a pay-per-view match, perhaps this would have been a better spot for Seth Rollins and Murphy?

The Miz def. Otis—Money in the Bank Briefcase on the Line

Otis’ new theme music made it even more unlikely that he was coughing up this Money in the Bank briefcase. The song was catchy, but WWE couldn’t help but skip over subtlety and include Otis saying “blue collar” at the beginning.

In turning Tucker heel, not only did WWE break up yet another tag team, they doused the flame of one of their more promising babyfaces all while further devaluing the Money in the Bank briefcase. Very impressive incompetence.

Sasha Banks def. Bayley—WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Inside Hell in a Cell

Corey Graves has defaulted right back into his rightful role as a Sasha Banks hater on commentary. He’s the Skip Bayless to her LeBron James.

Bayley’s new gear is such trash compared to the pageantry of her old gear.

Sasha Banks had one chance to toss Bayley’s trusted chair outside the cell just as it was done lowering and she nailed it.

This match did such a better job of using the cage than the Universal Championship.

Given how much Bayley freaked out about not being able to use her chair, she had no problem moving on to the bevy of other chairs under the ring that were used throughout this match.

As Bayley was attempting to duct tape two kendo sticks together, she casually (and hilariously) asked the referee “I’m so sweaty, can you do this for me?”

Sasha Banks using a fire extinguisher might have been an audible as Bayley struggled to put together her kendo stick contraption.

Bayley teased a Bayley to Belly with the chair, which would have been so great, but Sasha Banks’ Bank Statement counter was just as good.

Bobby Lashley def. Slapjack—WWE United States Championship

Comparing RETRIBUTION to Akira Tozawa’s ninjas is being too kind because at last the group actually won something.

RETRIBUTION becomes more of a joke the more TV time they get. By Survivor Series they’ll be lucky to be featured in the in-show Snicker’s commercial.

Drew McIntyre def. Randy Orton—WWE Championship Inside Hell in a Cell

Randy Orton attacking Drew McIntyre disguised as a camera man made this third Hell in a Cell Match unique from the other two, which were unique in their own right.

Orton took forever to finally remove his pants, which were basically sagging from his waist for half the match.

I miss when WWE Superstars used to scale to the top of the cell, which finally happened in the main event. It’s also worth mentioning that all three Hell in a Cell matches featured some version of the wrestlers being able sneak inside and outside the cage.

Tom Phillips using the WWE-approved language of how Hell in a Cell “inspired legacies and shattered careers” almost ruined a perfectly fine visual.
