WWE Raw Results—Monday, October 26, 2020

Drew McIntyre was described by Drew McIntyre as “indomitable,” which would be the least-accurate description of McIntyre the night after he dropped the WWE Championship.

The Miz is so good at being obnoxious.

There is no bigger in-ring talent gap between the alpha and beta of any two-man alliance in wrestling than John Morrison’s talent over The Miz.

AJ Styles def. Jeff Hardy—Survivor Series Qualifying Match

AJ Styles once again made mention of his win streak on Raw, where he is 2-0. Hoping for long-term storytelling in WWE is a fool’s errand, but I really do hope they’re going somewhere with this win streak.

AJ Styles noted his associate doesn’t like to be noticed, which if that’s true, he’s in the wrong business.

After the break, AJ Styles really didn’t need any help from his Associate, who really just stood around doing nothing, despite the announcers giving him the assist for AJ’s win.

The Lucha House Party def. Drew Gulak and Akira Tozawa

Believe it or not, this match was designed to set up a pecking order of contenders for the WWE 24/7 Championship, but it predictably devolved into a series of random pins when R-Truth foolishly walked in on the match.

Drew Gulak had to expect this after being separated from Daniel Bryan

The Firefly Fun House

The graphic promoting this segment included a cartoon version of Alexa Bliss, making their union official.

Alexa Bliss achieved a milestone tonight, marking the first time she killed Ramblin’ Rabbit by poisoning him with arsenic.

Bray Wyatt has not forgotten about Randy Orton burning down his compound. Also the branding iron used in the Firefly Fun House is the same branding iron featured in his 2018 feud with Orton. If WWE is going to pull the trigger on The Fiend-Randy Orton for the WWE Championship so soon, it doesn’t bode well for The Fiend.

This was one of the better episodes of Firefly Fun House. These two are so great together.

Keith Lee def. Elias—Survivor Series Qualifying Match

I was surprised how even this match was and it was very hard to buy Lee selling for Elias.

It’s good to see Keith Lee get a victory on television, that’s about all anybody can hope for at this point.

The Hurt Business def. RETRIBUTION by Disqualification

This feels like WWE getting this match out of the way so it doesn’t have to book RETRIBUTION at Survivor Series.

This segment was partly dedicated to promoting a current matchup between Bobby Lashley and Sami Zayn, including a reference to Lashley’s sisters.

RETRIBUTION finally earned its first pinfall victory when Slapjack rolled up MVP, who was distracted by Reckoning (Mia Yim) being attacked by creatures that nobody else could see.

It’s still unclear whether or not there is a babyface in this feud. I don’t think there is one.

The Hurt Business will collect their next payment in gold, suggesting they’ll be vying for a championship. Based on how WWE books certain people in blocks, this sounds like a feud with The New Day.

Update: 16 minutes later, The Hurt Business confronted The New Day.

Drew McIntyre def. The Miz

I Just realized that John Morrison now finds himself playing the role of 2020 Alex Riley.

Drew McIntyre, who is not WWE champion, threw the Money in the Bank briefcase toward the entrance and Samoa Joe concluded “I guess we don’t have to worry about that getting cashed in!” As if The Miz couldn’t just retrieve the case after the match and wait until Randy Orton’s segment during “Moment of Bliss.”

Part of being Money in the Bank winner is losing clean under the misguided notion that the Money in the Bank will keep the briefcase holder strong.

Lana def. Nikki Cross, Lacey Evans and Peyton Royce—Qualifying Match for spot on Raw Women’s Team

Nikki Cross’ awful new theme music is as good of a fit as Vince McMahon on TikTok.

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler spent much of this show bickering over who should be the Team Capitan, but Nia Jax definitely has the edge after bullying Byron Saxton out of his seat.

Midway through this match, it was announced that Elias’ “Universal Truth” reached No. 1 on iTunes.

When Lana won this match, the rest of Team Raw had the same look on their face as WWE officials when Rusev signed with AEW.

Sheamus def. Matt Riddle—Survivor Series Qualifying Match

I got sore just watching these two beat the hell out of each other.

This might have been Matt Riddle’s best match on the main roster and he’s had some pretty good matches in his young main roster career.

“A Moment of Bliss” with Alexa Bliss Featuring Randy Orton

Alexa Bliss’ new theme music is one of the rare instances of WWE succeeding in that department.

This segment thrust Randy Orton in to the role of a de facto babyface, but by no means am I on his side in this feud.

I don’t care how soon a 46-year-old Edge is due back, Edge-Orton does not need a title. WWE needs to the strap on The Fiend, period.
