Opening Segment Featuring Drew McIntyre, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and The Big Show

WWE punted on creativity when it came to coming up with a reason for Randy Orton to receive yet another rematch. Instead, they went with honesty when Randy Orton simply said he can get another title match because he’s Randy Orton.

The second Drew McIntyre issued his open challenge, I feared that Keith Lee would answer it and lose yet another match by disqualification or, even worse, pinfall.

Asuka def. Zelina Vega—WWE Raw Women’s Championship

This match continued the trend tonight of unexplained rematches for championships.

This match might have been quicker than last night’s cake walk for Asuka. What’s the point of dragging Zelina Vega into this situation when she had such a good thing going?

Keith Lee def. Andrade

I was relieved to not only see Keith Lee get a quality win over Andrade, but to see him wrestle because it reduced his chances of answering Drew McIntyre’s open challenge. But the way this company thinks, he’ll probably answer the challenge and lose to get back to 50/50.

The Mysterio Family Appears Live

Aalyah wished Buddy Murphy a happy birthday via text and Rey Mysterio reacted to the news like she had texted him “wyd” at 2 a.m.

The fact that Dominik Mysterio and Murphy came to blows and both were acting like babyfaces speaks to a more nuanced layer of a feud that is really starting to cook.

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke vs. Lana and Natalya

Lana and Natalya believe they are the rightful women’s tag team champions due to their social media influence. It think they’re getting the words “tag team” mixed up with “Tiktok.”

This match was very blonde and extremely pink.

For someone who was torn away from the love of her life, Mandy Rose sure seems to be happy to be on Raw.

Lana took a scary bump while backflipping as Mandy Rose delivered a gutwrench suplex.

Kevin Owens def. Aleister Black by DQ

How did Aleister Black get new theme music before The Tribal Chief?

Aleister Black has not done the greatest job explaining exactly why he’s upset with Kevin Owens.

Aleister Black has shed his eye rag for a large black contact that is so much more bad ass.

This is not how you book a guy who just turned heel, Aleister Black’s otherwise promising heel turn feels over before it even started.

R-Truth def. Drew Gulak and Akira Tozawa—WWE 24/7 Championship

It was around this time that the much-anticipated showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens reached halftime, which tells me WWE failed to properly time this show out.

Drew Gulak was one of two SmackDown Superstars to this point to appear on Raw unexplained. If WWE has a draft coming up, what’s the importance of the draft if WWE Superstars are going to be randomly showing up on the opposing show.

Murphy def. Domnik Mysterio

Pre-Match Thoughts: I fully expect Aalyah to get involved in this match and maybe even accidentally help Murphy win.

Somebody with the Mysterio last name is turning heel by the end of this feud.

Apollo Crews, Ricochet and Mustafa Ali def. The Hurt Business

When MVP said Cedric Alexander went to Hurt Business Boot Camp, I immediately became suspicious that this is WWE speak for COVID-19 given the recent breakout in the Performance Center.

This match featured the only presence of RETRIBUTION.

Mustafa Ali landed a picture-perfect 450 Splash and it was great to see because it’s been a while since he’s been able to use that move, let alone win a match.

Drew McIntyre def. Robert Roode—WWE Championship

It’s great to see the WWE Championship defended on Raw, and it’s even great to see Robert Roode back, but nobody was buying this man winning the WWE Championship.

Utility Dolph Ziggler added “manager” to his growing list of duties throughout the pandemic era.

I forgot just how much chemistry these two had in NXT until watching this match.

Randy Orton managed to pull off being terrifying in purple night-vision goggles as he destroyed the legends in the dark.
