Baaghi 3 Box Office Week 1: Tiger Shroff’s Action Drama Collects Rs 90.67 cr Amid Coronavirus Scare

Baaghi 3 Box Office Week 1: Filmmaker Ahmed Khan‘s Baaghi 3 has finished its week 1 Box Office at Rs 90.67 crore. The film collected Rs 5.70 crore on Thursday which was way lower than expected but considering the trying times of coronavirus, Baaghi 3 seems to have performed decently.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the latest Box Office figures of Baaghi 3 and said the film ‘scores big numbers in week 1’. Even though for any film collecting Rs 90.67 crore is a big deal, for a film riding on the popularity of Tiger’s action, the figure is still below expectation. Adarsh’s tweet read, “#Baaghi3 scores big numbers in Week 1… Despite #CoronaVirus scare + examination period… Mass pockets dominate, Tier-2 and 3 cities good… Fri 17.50 cr, Sat 16.03 cr, Sun 20.30 cr, Mon 9.06 cr, Tue 14.05 cr, Wed 8.03 cr, Thu 5.70 cr. Total: ₹ 90.67 cr. #India biz.” (sic)

Baaghi 3 emerged as the biggest opening day grosser of the year so far beating the likes of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Love Aaj Kal and Malang among others. However, even after collecting Rs 17.50 crore on Friday, it could not surpass the collection made by Baaghi 2 which earned Rs 25.10 crore when it released in the year 2018.

However, now that the Delhi government has announced a total shutdown of theatres in the capital till March 31, the collection of Baaghi 3 is expected to take a big blow. Another important factor that would be affecting its run at the ticket window is the release of Irrfan Khan starrer Angrezi Medium. The film has hit the screens today and is expected to gain well from metros except for Delhi where it can only perform post-March 31.
