Kar Medical College and Hospital (RGKMCH) on August 9. The city has been gripped with outrage, with many taking to the streets demanding justice and stringent safety measures. The protests have seen participation from prominent personalities across various fields. Former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, who previously faced backlash for referring to the RGKMCH incident as a “stray incident,” joined a candlelight protest alongside his daughter Sana.

Renowned director Srijit Mukherjee, who also participated in the protests, expressed his personal connection to the cause, mentioning his mother’s experiences as a doctor. “My mother is a doctor… that is why it is personal for me,” he said, emphasizing the need for stringent safety measures on campus to protect those who serve society selflessly.
