COVID-19 Scare: Zee Cine Awards 2020 Cancelled For General Public, to be Shot as a Televised Event



Zee Cine Awards 2020 will now only be shot as a televised show and it has been cancelled for the general public due to Coronavirus outbreak. Zee Media recently released an official statement saying that it is a precautionary measure. While sharing the post on social media, the statement was captioned as, ” We thank you for your tremendous response for the ticketed event of Zee Cine Awards 2020. However with the continuing concern on COVID-19, as a precautionary measure, the event stands cancelled for the general public to avoid mass gatherings. You can enjoy watching the show on, @zeecinema and #ZeeTV on the 28th of March, 7:30 pm onwards ❤ and also catch it on @zee5 before TV.”

To avoid mass gatherings following the coronavirus outbreak, general public won’t be allowed and the ceremony will be held in Mumbai on March 13 only. The statement shared by Zee reads as, “As a measure of precaution on account of the continuing concern over the COVID-19, the ceremony for ZEE’s annual film awards property – Zee Cine Awards 2020 stands cancelled for the general public, to avoid mass gatherings. Instead, the awards will now be shot as a televised event. We would like to assure the fans who had purchased tickets for the event through our associates and partners that they will be refunded at the earliest. Our viewers and fans can now look forward to catching their favourite Bollywood celebrities during the telecast on March 28 on ZEE TV and ZEE Cinema. Additionally, viewers can also catch these awards before TV on ZEE5.”

As of now, in India, 75 cases of Coronavirus have been recorded.
