Cricket in the “Group A Playoffs – So You Think You Can Mask?” episode of THE MASKED DANCER.

The Masked Dancer‘s Group A performers took the stage for the first time since the premiere for January 20’s new episode. One of those Group A competitors was the Cricket.

Episode 4 offered a new dance and clues to influence the panelists’ guesses about Cricket’s true celebrity identity. Read on for what we learned, and what we know so far.

BEWARE OF SPOILERS BELOW.

Cricket on ‘The Masked Dancer’ Clues

When the Cricket took the stage for the first time, the judges noted his height. They wondered if he might be a basketball player, or perhaps a comedian.

During the Cricket’s first clue package, the major visual clues were the woods, Las Vegas, 90210, bombs, gold bars x10, and slot machines at a casino.

The Cricket said “I never thought I’d do a show like this,” suggesting he is not a professional dancer. The Cricket also made reference to “getting Punked.”

Cricket said he was lucky at life but not at love, but that he finally hit the jackpot with his current partner, revealing that he now considers himself to be part of the “ultimate power couple.” He said she “taught me the art of balance.”

Cricket’s first “Word Up” clue was “accomplished.” The panelists noted that his voice sounds older in tone. They also said he seems like a comedic actor.

Cricket said his second performance was a “90s style routine that brings me back to when I got my start,” suggesting that he got his “big break” and launched his career to stardom in the 90s. The performance featured clock faces set to the time 1 o’clock.

Some visual clues from the Cricket’s second clue package were 2 silver medals, “super phone” payphone, elevator, PH, a knight going into battle, a gas station, and a firework over the New York City skyline.

Cricket said that growing up, “you weren’t allowed to be different in the community I grew up in.” He added that “now that I’m finally being heard, no one can stop me.”

When he was asked what makes him so confident, Cricket said, “I get my confidence from my wife. She’s so supportive of everything that I do.” He nodded when Paula Abdul said “You’re obviously happily married.”

Cricket’s second “word-up” clue was “all star.” Ashley Tisdale said maybe that means he’s on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Cricket said he’s the youngest in his family.

‘The Masked Dancer’ Cricket Guesses

After Cricket danced to “Jump (For My Love)” by the Pointer Sisters for their premiere performance, the celebrity panelists guessed that he might be Ian Ziering or Ashton Kutcher.

“This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan, Abdul said he is probably not a trained dancer but he definitely knows how to perform. Tisdale said his commitment to the Cricket character makes her think he’s an actor.

Abdul guessed Brian McKnight because of the reference to “back at 1” and the clocks in the performance.

Ken Jeong guessed Ryan Reynolds initially, before changing his guess to Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps.

Guest judge Rob Lowe guessed Ryan Lochte, and Brian Austin Green agreed with that guess, in part because Lochte competed on Dancing With the Stars.

UPDATE AND MAJOR SPOILER: At the end of episode 4, Cricket was eliminated. When he took off his mask, he revealed himself as R&B singer Brian McKnight.

New episodes of The Masked Dancer air on Wednesday nights at 8/7c on FOX.
