Govinda’s niece Arti Singh tied the knot in April, and despite ongoing family tensions, actor Govinda attended the wedding and also opened on his presence at his niece’s Mumbai reception. Fans were taken aback by Govinda’s participation in the celebrations, considering his longstanding feud with her elder brother, actor-comedian Krushna Abhishek, for over eight years. Recently, Arti expressed her love for her uncle on Instagram Stories, sharing a clip from his film and showering him with praise.

She shared a clip on her Instagram story of Govinda dancing with actress Juhi Chawla, known for their iconic pairings in 90s films. Taking to Stories, she wrote, “Bestest! No one can be like him (red heart emoji) Hero no. 1 always. Love you so so much!”
Govinda made a comeback in 2016 with “Jagga Jasoos,” co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. He actively promoted the film by appearing on “The Kapil Sharma Show” on Sony TV with his wife Sunita and daughter Tina. This didn’t sit well with his nephew Krushna Abhishek, who had recently taken over as host of “Comedy Nights Live” on Colors channel. While Govinda enjoyed himself on TKSS, cracking jokes and singing qawwalis with Kapil Sharma and his team, Krushna Abhishek was upset about his uncle appearing on a competing show.
Govinda was upset with Krushna for a joke he made on his show, saying, “I cracked a joke saying ‘Maine Govinda ko apna mama rakha hai’ (I have kept Govinda as my uncle) which he didn’t like.” Later, an upset Govinda said, “Krushna has been making money by insulting others on television. I was extremely upset with the ‘Mama rakha hai’ remark and summoned him home. I told him that he should refrain from making such statements in the garb of gags as they could be humiliating.
