HBCU Football Games Coming to Fox-Owned Stations in Los Angeles and Chicago Through Allen Media Group Deal

Allen Media Group has set a deal with Fox-owned stations in Los Angeles and Chicago to carry the 2024 college football package offered under the company’s HBCU Go banner.

The deal with Fox’s KCOP-TV Los Angeles and WPWR-TV Chicago completes the syndication lineup for HBCU Go football, which will present a slate of 26 games airing from Aug. 31 to Nov. 23. HBCU Go is the TV partner for collegiate sports programs at the nation’s 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. With the Fox deal, HBCU Go’s football schedule is cleared on TV stations covering 95% of U.S. TV households.

HBCU Go’s list of station partners includes outlets owned by Sinclair, Gray, Tegna, Hearst, Nexstar, Gray, and Scripps. The games are also carried on Armed Forces Network and Allen Media Group’s TheGrio.com, Local Now and HBCU Go digital platforms.

The upcoming slate marks the third year that Allen Media Group has pushed for broad national distribution of HBCU football. Conferences represented by HBCU schools includle the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

The season kicks off with the HBCU Go Pre Show on Aug. 24. The following week, play-by-play analyst Charlie Neal will join color commmentator Jon Kelly and sideline reporter Lawrencia Moten for live game coverage. The first faceoff is Clark Atlanta University at Fort Valley State University.
