In January this year too, Hema Malini got annoyed after a fan asked her for a selfie.
Hema Malini was left irritated and angry on Wednesday after a fan decided to pose with her for a picture. In a video that surfaced on social media, the veteran actress-turned-politician was seen attending an event when a female fan asked her for a picture. The video shows the fan keeping her arm around Hema’s back, which left the actress uncomfortable. The actress quickly asked the fan to remove her hand and visibly looked irritated.
Soon after the video was shared online, several users reacted to it and expressed disappointment with the actress. While some called her “rude”, others argued that there was nothing to get irritated with. However, some people also defended Hema and urged fans not to cross limits. “Nothing wrong here. Even I wouldn’t like a stranger putting her hand on my shoulder. People need to understand boundaries & personal space,” one of the users wrote.
This is not the first time that a fan’s action has left Hema Malini disappointed. In January this year too, the actress was at the launch of Gulzar’s authorised biography ‘Gulzar Saab: Hazar Rahein Mud Ke Dekhin’ when she got annoyed after a fan asked her for a selfie. “Selfie lene ke liye thode aaye hain (We’re not here to take selfies),” she told the fan. A video of the incident had also gone viral on social media.
Hema Malini is a veteran actress-turned-politician who has worked in several blockbuster movies including Sholay, Jamai Raja, Kudrat, Desh Premee, Jyoti, Kranti, Do Aur Do Paanch and Baghban among others. Hema was last seen in the 2020 film Shimla Mirchi.
Hema Malini is married to veteran actor Dharmendra. They first met in 1970 when they were shooting for their film Tum Haseen Main Jawaan. The two got married in 1980 and have two daughters – Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Earlier this year, Hema celebrated Dharmendra’s 88th birthday when she took to her Instagram handle and shared a love-filled note for the actor. “Wishing my dearest life partner of many years, a very happy, healthy and joyful birthday. May you have all the love your heart can hold, all the happiness a day can bring, and all the blessings a life can unfold. I just want to say: I hope you can see how special you are to me. Happy birthday to my love!. @aapkadharam,” she wrote.
