The actor also subjected himself to the “Claw Machine Game” alongside The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon

There has been a lot of speculation about the cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine, including rumors of an appearance by star Ryan Reynolds‘ pal Taylor Swift. But Hugh Jackman, who returns as Wolverine, took the opportunity on The Tonight Show to shut down some of the gossip.

Instead of saying who is in the superhero film, Jackson told host Jimmy Fallon who is not in it.

“Jimmy, you’re not in the movie,” Jackson confirmed. “I know you’re shocked, but you got cut out. I’m sorry. There was a genuine rumor that was going around for a long time, and I can guarantee he is not in the movie, and that is King Charles… But what do I know? I said I wasn’t doing Wolverine again. You can’t believe a word I say.”

Jackson also explained why he decided to revisit Wolverine, noting that “I had more fun playing him than ever before. I had a blast.” He described of saying he was done with the character after Logan, “I meant it. I really meant it. I believed my lie.” It was after seeing Deadpool that he realized he’d made a mistake.

“I could see it,” Jackman told Fallon. “Just those two characters mish-mashed, I could see it. So it took me a little while to get over myself.”

During the late-night show appearance, Fallon enlisted Jackman to play a Wolverine-themed game the “Claw Machine Challenge.” It involved the pair wearing Wolverine claws and attempting to get things out of a pile of toys while being lowered on a rope.
