The sacred month of Sawan is all set to start today, July 22. This month is considered special in order to worship Lord Shiva. This year, there are five Mondays in this auspicious month, providing a special opportunity for devotees to hold special rituals to worship Lord Shiva. Monday is believed to be the day of Lord Shiva. In this month, special rituals and pujas are held in the temples to please the Lord. The first Monday of the month of Sawan falls on July 22, while the last Monday falls on August 19. It is believed that performing the rituals and pujas with full devotion in Sawan yields good results. This year, there are several other auspicious occasions that are to be celebrated in the months of Sawan. The occasions are Preeti Yoga, Ayushman Yoga, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, Shiva Vasa Yoga, and Karana Yoga. To commemorate this auspicious occasion, all the preparations to hold special rituals are in full swing at the major Shiva temples around the country. Special arrangements are made in those areas to ensure devotees do not face any problems while worshipping Lord Shiva.

In an interview with Local 18, Pandit Kamlesh Vyas mentioned that this month is one of the most sacred months of the year. This year, the auspicious Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga falls in this month. He mentioned that holding special rituals during this yoga yields the desired result. This yoga is set to be commemorated on the first day of the month. He added that Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is also believed to be auspicious to worship Goddess Lakshmi.

The Shiva temples around the city of Bhilwara, Rajasthan are thoroughly cleaned and decorated with lights. Special arrangements are reportedly made in the well-known Harni Mahadev Temple.

The prominent Shiva temples in Bhilwara include the Harni Mahadev Temple, Shree Mansa Puran Mahadev Mandir, Patola Mahadev Temple, Adhar Sheela Shiv Temple, Tilaswan Mahadev Temple, Sarveshwar Mahadev Mandir, Shree Nileshwar Mahadev Temple.
