Apple Event 2020 – ‘Time Flies’ Live Blog: Watch Series 6, iPad Air 2020 and More Expected

Apple is set to introduce new hardware virtually for the first time, after the Covid-19 pandemic saw the brand host a virtual WWDC 2020 event earlier this year. In expectations for tonight is the Apple Watch Series 6, which is reportedly going to come with a blood oxygen monitor, among other things – a true mark of the times right now. Also expected to launch is the iPad Air (2020), and it will be interesting to see Apple’s new design language feature in a super light iPad design. Reports have also mentioned that Apple may launch its much talked-about AirTags, too.

This is the first hardware launch event by Apple that is being hosted virtually. Going by the fantastic production quality of WWDC 2020, we can at least expect similar theatrics from Apple this time around, too. The much awaited iPhone 12 launch event, however, is not expected to happen this time, although you can never say never until the event actually happens. Nevertheless, the promise of a new Apple smartwatch and a tablet that will likely sit in the entry level price bracket seems pretty strong, and given how Apple has grown through the times of the pandemic, it can all be a wholesome, exciting evening to follow

Aaaaaaand we are starting, right on time

In between all this, Apple’s new store in Singapore is a sight to behold. This is a random appreciation post for Apple’s undying dedication to good design.

I’m sure you’ve seen the fancy, special edition ‘like’ animation for the Apple Event on Twitter. If you haven’t, tweet about the event (or find a tweet about it) and then go like it. It is quite fancy, indeed.

Some non-related reading, too – if you’re more excited about the upcoming iPhones (we can see why) and would rather read about that, here’s a link for that as well.

It’s roughly 10 minutes to liftoff, so we’re gonna bombard you with links to all of our relevant coverage leading up to the event. First, the Apple One subscription that is scheduled to be launched tonight – a one-stop account for all things Apple.

For all those of you looking forward to watching the stream for yourself rather than following our blog, tune in to Apple’s live stream of the event here:

Hello and welcome, to our live coverage of Apple’s first virtual hardware launch. It’s the pandemic times, so of course, all the razzmatazz has now conveniently moved online. Why? Because the show must go on!
