Jio, Airtel And Vodafone Users Can Recharge Their Prepaid Mobile Numbers at ATMs

At a time when everything is shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, many people are facing difficulties when it comes to recharging their prepaid mobile numbers. In India, where a large population is still not online or comfortable with using digital tools, it can pose a big problem as the regular retailers have to shut shop. But now Jio, Airtel and Vodafone users can rest easy as these three are providing them the option of recharging through ATMs, grocery stores and chemists. Jio was the first to implement the facility for its customers, followed by Airtel and Vodafone. Where Airtel is concerned, it has also partnered with a few grocery stores and pharmacies to enable the recharging facility. Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal had made the announcement about the new facility being provided to customers and revealed that the telco is partnering with HDFC, ICICI, Apollo and Big Bazaar in the initiative. Vadafone on the other hand has partnered with ICICI Bank, SBI, Axis Bank, Citi Bank, DCB Bank, HDFC Bank, IDBI Bank, and Standard Chartered, while Reliance Jio has partnered with State Bank of India, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Citi Bank, DCB Bank, AUF Bank, and Standard Chartered Bank. Jio, Airtel and Vodafone users can recharge their mobiles at any of the ATMs listed above using the following steps and the money will be deducted from their bank accounts.

1. Insert your card in the ATM machine.
2. Then select the recharge option that will appear on the screen of your ATM machine.
3. Once you click on the recharge option you will be asked for the mobile number you want to recharge.
4. After entering the number, next put in the amount you want to recharge.
5. You will next be asked for your ATM pin, and after you have entered all the required details, you press the ENTER button.

If you have entered all the details correctly, you will get a message confirming if the recharge has been successful or not, and you will also receive a message from your network operator for the same.

This facility could not have come at a better time, as it could prove helpful to even those who have access to the internet but are, for some reason or the other, not able to recharge their mobile phones online.
