Arcángel And Sech Earn RIAA 8x Multi-Platino Status For ‘Sigues Con Él’

In a crowded marketplace teeming with reggaetón team-ups, “Sigues Con Él” continues to stand out.

Taken from Arcángel’s late 2019 album Historias de un Capricornio, the track paired the young Panamanian R&B star Sech with the Puerto Rican trap pioneer with significant results. Produced by Dimelo Flow, the architect behind Sech’s Hot 100 hits like “Otro Trago” and the Bad Bunny collab “Ignorantes,” the duo’s “Sigues Con Él” reached the all-genre singles chart as well, peaking in April at No. 78.

And as of this month, their song has earned 8x multi-platino certification in the RIAA’s Latin program, accounting for 480,000 units in the U.S of sales and streaming equivalents. For Sech, the track officially. counts as his second best-selling single domestically behind “Otro Trago,” which reached 10x multi-platino last September (and is assuredly overdue for a new round of certification). That said, the RIAA has yet to certify “Ignorantes,” which could very well surpass “Sigues Con Él” when that occurs. Released in May, Sech’s latest album 1 Of 1 has not yet been certified either, nor has its singles. It did, however, peak on Top Latin Albums back in June at No. 4, just one spot behind his 2019 breakthrough album Sueños did.

For the veteran Arcángel, an active favorite of contemporary traperos and reggaetoneros, “Sigues Con Él” serves as one of the biggest hits of his career. In addition to the aforementioned Hot 100 placement, the track reached No. 1 on Latin Airplay, as well as No. 3 on Latin Digital Song Sales, Latin Streaming Songs and the overall Hot Latin Songs chart.

Additionally this month, Arcángel scored RIAA awards for a handful of other songs. Two advance singles from Historias de un Capricornio, “Invicto” and “Te Esperaré,” reached oro status, signifying 30,000 units respectively. This comes after two other tracks from the album earned certifications in June: “Infeliz” with Bad Bunny (2x multi-platino, 120,000 units) and “Memoria Rota” with Myke Towers (platino, 60,000 units).

Here are some other recent examples of songs that achieved oro, platino and multi-platino certifications in the RIAA Latin program over the course of this month:

Feid and Justin Quiles, Porfa (RIAA platino: 60,000 units)

This slinky reggaetón cut was doing just fine even before its star-studded remix dropped this summer. But once the likes of J. Balvin, Nicky Jam and Maluma got involved, the track became an undeniable hit. It peaked earlier this month on Hot Latin Songs at No. 13, and subsequent radio pickup with only improve its chart prospects.

Christian Nodal, Se Me Olvidó (RIAA 2x multi-platino: 120,000 units)

It took a mere three months for this single from the hugely popular Regional Mexican star to reach this milestone, one it is likely to surpass in short order. Another 2020 single, “Ay Ay Ay” secured oro certification this month as well.

Danny Ocean, Epa Wei (RIAA 2x multi-platino: 120,000 units)

While this bilingual cut from the Venezuelan singer/songwriter may not have charted on Hot Latin Songs like his breakout hit “Me Rehuso,” the track proves a dark horse with this notable certification. Additionally in July, he earned a platino award for the 2019 single “Swing” and an oro one for “54+1.”
