As Taylor Swift Enjoys A Third Week At No. 1, Luke Bryan And Glass Animals Debut New Titles Inside The Top 10

Once again, Taylor Swift holds at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with her surprise full-length Folklore, which recently blasted onto the chart with the largest debut of 2020. The set hasn’t budged since, and it has now spent three consecutive turns atop the list.

With another week at No. 1 to its credit, Folklore is now tied as the third-longest-running leader of the year, as Roddy Ricch’s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial also managed a trio of spins in charge of the Billboard 200. Only Lil Baby’s My Turn and The Weeknd’s After Hours have lived at No. 1 for longer, as those sets racked up five (nonconsecutive) and four frames, respectively.

Folklore moved another 136,000 equivalent units in its third frame on the Billboard 200. That sum includes 67,000 sales.

As Swift leads the charge, four titles that weren’t present inside the Billboard 200’s top 10 last week find their way into the highest tier.

A pair of posthumous releases swap spots with one another this time around, with Juice WRLD’s Legends Never Die stepping up to No. 2 while Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon dips to No. 3. The two sets recently spent time at No. 1.

Rapper Rod Wave is back inside the Billboard 200’s top 10 with his latest studio effort Pray 4 Love, which stalled in the runner-up rung back in April. The hip-hop star’s full-length returns to the region thanks to the release of a deluxe edition which expands its tracklist by 11 tunes. Pray 4 Love bounces from No. 23 to No. 4, shifting 75,000 equivalent units in the past tracking frame.

The highest-ranking debut this week comes from country music favorite Luke Bryan, whose new set Born Here Live Here Die Here launches at No. 5 with 65,000 equivalent units, 48,000 of which are pure sales. The title is the superstar’s eleventh top 10, a sum which includes four No. 1s.

Born Here Live Here Die Here was preceded by three proper singles, “Knockin’ Boots,” “What She Wants Tonight” and “One Margarita,” all of which have become huge hits in the country space. The trio of tunes have all broken into the top 10 on the Hot Country Songs chart, and they’ve all become No. 1s on the country-only airplay ranking.

On the more competitive Hot 100, both “Knockin’ Boots” and “One Margarita” have reached the top 40, certifying them as proper hits. So far, the former has lifted to No. 31, while the latter has become the biggest smash of them all, stepping up to No. 19. “What She Wants Tonight” came close, peaking at No. 46 for a short time.

The original Broadway cast recording of Hamilton falls from No. 4 to No. 6 this week, though it impressively managed to move another 61,000 equivalent units.

Indie pop outfit Glass Animals collect their first top 10 album with Dreamland, which begins its time on the Billboard 200 at No. 7. The title, their third full-length, opens with 60,000 equivalent units shifted, which is partially made up of 43,000 actual purchases.

Dreamland was promoted with quite a few singles, and at least half of them have reached the top 40 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs ranking, with second release “Your Love (Déjà Vu)” standing out as the biggest hit of the bunch.

DaBaby and Lil Baby, two of the most popular names in hip-hop at the moment who just happen to have similar monikers, see their albums Blame It on Baby and My Turn land at Nos. 8 and 9, respectively this week.

Debuting in last place inside this week’s top 10 on the Billboard 200 is rapper NLE Choppa’s Top Shotta, which is being marketed as his debut album, as opposed to another type of collection. The set, his second project to reach the chart, launches with 36,000 equivalent units, just 9,000 of which are sales.

Top Shotta was promoted with several singles, two of which have already reached the Hot 100. Up first was “Walk Em Down” with Roddy Ricch, which narrowly broke into the top 40, peaking at No. 38 earlier this year. Follow-up “Shotta Flow 5” rose as high as No. 54.
