BTS Own Half Of The World Albums Chart—Again

While it has started to work its way down on a number of Billboard charts, BTS’s Map of the Soul: 7 is still going strong on the World Albums chart, a tally that ranks the bestselling “world” full-lengths in the U.S. every week. It is joined by several other projects from the same group, who are no strangers to ruling the list.

In fact, this week, BTS control almost half of the entire World Albums chart, as they place seven titles on the 15-rung ranking. That is the kind of domination only one of the biggest groups on the planet can muster.

Back in the driver’s seat for a third (of what will surely be many) turn is Map of the Soul: 7, their latest release. The set only stepped aside to allow NCT 127’s Neo Zone to debut in first place last frame. That title, already one of the best-performing Korean-language titles in U.S. history, declines one rung and settles at No. 2 this time around.

BTS occupy four spots inside the top 10 this frame, with former chart-toppers Love Yourself: Answer, Map of the Soul: Persona and You Never Walk Alone coming in at Nos. 3, 4 and 6, respectively.

Helping the septet lay claim over about half (which can’t be exact on a 15-spot ladder) of the World Albums chart is Love Yourself: Her, which returns to the tally once again. The set, which has now landed somewhere on the roster for 83 nonconsecutive turns, reappears at No. 15, proving its sustained popularity once more.

BTS may not be the only Korean act on the chart (they are joined by names like the aforementioned NCT 127 as well as Blackpink, iTZY and SuperM), but their name is the only one that appears more than once.
