Camila Cabello, Maren Morris And Megan Thee Stallion: Who Will Score The Next Top 10 Hit?

Other than Drake’s new single “Toosie Slide” (which debuts at No. 1, pushing many successful cuts down the charts), the Hot 100’s top 10 features almost all the same songs it has for some time now. Just outside the important region, a number of big hits have been rising quickly for weeks now, and it’s only a matter of time before one of them finally enters the highest tier…but which one will it be?

Here’s a look at five songs that are all competing with each other to become the next top 10 hit in the U.S.

Maren Morris – “The Bones”

Already one of the most successful women in country music in recent memory, Maren Morris may be on her way to achieving something she’s never claimed before: a solo top 10 hit. The singer-songwriter’s single “The Bones” was released off her recent album Girl last May, and it has been gaining ground this entire time. The track has now ruled the Hot Country Songs list for six turns and it’s been present on that genre-specific ranking for over a year now.

“The Bones” was re-released with a new version featuring rocker Hozier which helped it rise on the Hot 100, but that version doesn’t comprise at least 50% of all consumption, so the Irish musician isn’t credited. Morris’ single rose as high as last week No. 12, the closest it’s been to going top 10.

Camila Cabello – “My Oh My (ft. DaBaby)”

Initially an underperformer, “My Oh My” has been stepping up the Hot 100 slowly but surely for months, and it’s tough to suggest whether or not it has any steam left in it to keep going. The most successful song featured on Cabello’s sophomore album Romance (other than “Senorita,” which is also present on duet partner Shawn Mendes’ self-titled release), the joint effort with DaBaby is up to No. 12 this frame, a new peak, and if the top 10 becomes a bit less competitive, the singer could land her sixth top 10 hit and rapper DaBaby could score his first.

Megan Thee Stallion – “Savage”

Unlike the two tracks that rank just above Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage,” the rapper’s latest has not been attempting to enter the top 10 for months. The tune has only spent about a few weeks on the list, and it’s continuously pushed forward. The cut, taken from her Suga EP, hits a new high of No. 14 this time around, and there’s no reason to believe it couldn’t improve again, possibly becoming the hip-hop talent’s first top 10 very soon.

Lil Mosey – “Blueberry Faygo”

Teen prodigy Lil Mosey has been releasing music commercially for years now, despite the fact that he is only 18. He’s landed on the Hot 100 before, but it’s safe to call “Blueberry Faygo” his real breakout smash, as it has introduced him to a much larger audience than his past placements. The Certified Hitmaker single just recently broke into the top 20 and it’s incrementally driving toward the peak, and if its performance in other countries (such as the U.K., where it just entered the top 10) is any indication of what’s to come, it’s not done yet.

Gabby Barrett – “I Hope”

One of the fastest-rising songs on the Hot 100, Gabby Barrett’s introductory single “I Hope” is vaulting up the ranking, and it could soon become the rare country track to enter the top 10. The American Idol contestant’s first real smash just entered the top 20 this past frame, and at the rate it’s been advancing, it will surely gain more ground in no time.
