Donny Van De Beek, Phil Foden, Eric Dier Lead Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 3 Sleepers

sleepers from last week, you would’ve gotten a hattrick from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, a goal from Everton defender teammate Michael Keane, a goal and an assist from Leeds’ Mateusz Klich and an assist from Wolves’ Daniel Podence.

For Gameweek 3, come for some winning advice as we rock the 4-3-3 this weekend.

Goalkeeper

Aaron Ramsdale, Sheffield United, £5.0M

This may seem like an unconventional choice, given that the Blades have given up three goals over the first two matches and their weekend opponent Leeds has scored seven over the first two weeks. But these trends can’t extend forever, can they? Eventually Sheffield is going to put together a home clean sheet and Leeds is going to have an off game offensively. With Ramsdale being selected by just 5.9% of FPL managers, a strong performance would pay big dividends.

Defenders

Eric Dier, Tottenham, £5.0M

Despite giving up two goals to Southampton last week, a favorable home fixture against Newcastle this week should pay dividends for Spurs. The Magpies failed to score at home last week against Brighton and may struggle on the road in London against Tottenham. Dier is selected in 1.3% of fantasy leagues and could be in your lineup too for an affordable price.

Kurt Zouma, Chelsea, £5.0M

Zouma scored in the Lions’ opening win against Brighton and now faces West Bromwich Albion this week, a team that’s given up a total of eight goals in two games. Expect a clean sheet and maybe some offensive production this week from the Chelsea defense.

Charlie Taylor, £4.5M, Jimmy Dunne, £4.0M Burnley

Burnley recorded 15 clean sheets a season debut and face a Southampton club that went scoreless in its lone away match so far this season. For under £10.0M, I’d stack the Taylor-Dunne duo, with Dunne having scored in last week’s 4-2 loss at Leicester last week. With Newcastle and West Brom after that, Burnley’s run of success may last longer than just one fixture.

Midfielders

Phil Foden, Manchester City, £6.5M

I know Pep Guardiola has his precious rotation, but Foden has to be in your starting XI if Man City wants to challenge Liverpool for the title. He should be a primary beneficiary of Kevin de Bruyne’s overall brilliance, as he was when he scored in Monday’s win over Wolves. And he needs to be in the lineup this weekend too in City’s tough fixture against Leicester.

Donny van de Beek, Manchester United, £7.0M

In United’s 3-1 opening match debacle against Crystal Palace, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to bring prized transfer van de Beek off the bench. Subbed on in the 67th minute, he scored in the 80th minute to make it a 2-1 game. The 23-year-old Dutchman needs to be in the starting XI in Saturday’s fixture against Brighton, assuming Solskjaer wants to keep his job.

John Fleck, Sheffield United, £6.0M

Leeds has allowed seven goals in two games, just what the Blades could use as they look to get out of an offensive funk, scoreless after two matches. Selected by 0.4% of FPL managers, any big production from Fleck would shoot you up the leaderboards.

Forwards

Chris Wood, Burnley, £6.5M

The New Zealander scored last week against Leicester and could again against a Southampton club that allowed five goals to Spurs last week. Wood’s scored double-digit goals three years in a row, and he could be on your roster as he tries to make it four.

Che Adams, Southampton, £5.9M

Though Burnley poses a strong challenge this week, Adams and the Saints have four of their following five matches against West Brom, Everton, Aston Villa and Newcastle. With all the attention going rightly to Danny Ings, perhaps the 24-year-old gets overlooked by his opponents.

Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa, £6.0M

The prized import faces a Fulham team that’s allowed a total of seven goals over its first two games. Linking up with Jack Graelish, Watkins and Villa have a chance to do some serious damage on Monday while Watkins is selected by just 1.5% of FPL managers.
