Every New Movie Coming To Netflix, Amazon, HBO And Apple TV This Weekend

Monday, Feb. 1, is going to be an exciting day for moviegoers, as the biggest streaming services will add dozens of new films to their digital lineups. But don’t forget: this last weekend of January will feature a few new additions as well.

Here’s every new movie coming to Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max and Apple TV this weekend.

Palmer (Apple TV)

While Justin Timberlake has dabbled in quite a few films in addition to his musical career, he has been the lead in just one non-animated feature film since 2013. But this weekend, he will be the star of Apple TV’s latest film, Palmer, which focuses on a former high school football coach who attempts to rebuild his life after 12 years in prison.

Palmer will be available to stream on Apple TV on Jan. 29.

The Little Things (HBO Max)

It’s not every day you see three Oscar-winning actors lead a film. With The Little Things, Warner Bros. will release its first of several films in 2021 that will premiere in both theaters and on HBO Max at the same time. This crime thriller–which stars Denzel Washington, Jared Leto and Rami Malek—follows a deputy sheriff who’s on the hunt for a serial killer wreaking havoc Los Angeles.

The Little Things will be available to stream on HBO Max on Jan. 29.

The Mummy Returns (HBO Max)

I’m not sure that everybody remembers just how big of a hit the Mummy series was back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The Mummy wrangled up $409 million in 1999, while the sequel, The Mummy Returns, scored even bigger with $433 million two years later. The sequel follows our familiar cast of heroes as they take on the evil mummy Imhotep.

The Mummy Returns will be available to stream on HBO Max on Jan. 30.

The Scorpion King (HBO Max)

Hot on the heels of The Mummy series’s success came The Scorpion King—which also happened to be the first big lead role for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Hollywood. The third film in the series details the origins of Johnson’s character from the second film, Mathayus.

The Scorpion King will be available to stream on HBO Max on Jan. 30.

Below Zero (Netflix)

Personally, if I was struggling to finish writing a book…I probably wouldn’t lock myself in a meat cooler until I had found an ending? But that was apparently Jack’s plan in Below Zero. This film stars Edward Furlong and Kristin Booth, along with the legendary genre star Michael Berryman.

Below Zero will be available to stream on Netflix on Jan. 29.

Finding ‘Ohana (Netflix)

As Netflix dabbles more and more in family-friendly adventures, their projects only get more and more intriguing. And that trend continues this weekend with Finding ‘Ohana, which focuses on two Brooklyn-raised siblings who go searching for long-lost treasure.

Finding ‘Ohana will be available to stream on Netflix on Jan. 29.

The Dig (Netflix)

While The Dig did have a theatrical release on Jan. 15, 2021, the critically lauded historical drama will reach a much wider audience this weekend on Netflix. The film—which features an all-star lineup of Lily James, Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes—details the excavation of Sutton Hoo in 1938.

The Dig will be available to stream on Netflix on Jan. 29.

Fatima (Netflix)

This Portuguese drama—which stars Harvey Keitel, Goran Visnjic and Stephanie Gil—centers on a 10-year-old girl and her two younger cousins in 1917. The three children claim to have seen the Virgin Mary, who tells them that prayer and suffering can bring an end to World War I.

Fatima will be available to stream on Netflix on Jan. 31.

Chick Fight (Amazon Prime)

When Anna—played by Malin Åkerman—decides to join an all-female fight club in Chick Fight, she finds she is much more connected to the scene that she ever would have imagined. This action film also stars Bella Thorne, Kevin Nash and Alec Baldwin.

Chick Fight will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on Jan. 29.

Mortal (Amazon Prime)

This Norwegian fantasy film that feels as though it was adapted from a young adult novel is actually based on Norse mythology. Mortal follows a psychologist who tries to help a man who has the power to make people and objects burn.
