How To Watch Or Live Stream UFC 249: Tony Ferguson Vs. Justin Gaethje

Tony Ferguson won the interim UFC lightweight title in October 2017 with a third-round submission victory over Kevin Lee. Ferguson never got the chance to unify that title because an injury prevented him from facing Khabib Nurmagomedov. That injury also resulted in the UFC stripping Ferguson of his interim belt. On Saturday, Ferguson could become a two-time interim lightweight champion when he faces former World Series of Fighting 155-pound titleholder Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 249.

Ferguson is on a 12-fight winning streak with the UFC. That run ties him for the longest active winning streak in the UFC with Nurmagomedov. Ferguson last fought in June 2019 when he earned a doctor stoppage TKO victory over Donald Cerrone at the end of the second round. Ferguson has nine stoppage wins during his lengthy winning streak, which began in October 2013 with a submission win over Mike Rio. 

Gaethje is 4-2 under the UFC banner. The former WSOF champ has not gone the distance in any of those scraps. He has either scored a knockout or been knocked out. Gaethje has earned seven fight-night bonuses in those six fights. He has first round knockout wins in his past three outings. Before he joined the UFC, Gaethje was 17-0. That run included five defenses of the WSOF lightweight belt.

Gaethje’s most recent victory was a September 2019 first-round TKO win over Cerrone.
