Juventus Is ‘Perfection’ For Miralem Pjanić Who Could Have Moved To The Old Lady In 2014

Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanić has opened up on life at the Allianz Stadium stating the club ‘represent perfection’, whilst revealing he could have made the move to Turin back in 2014.

Pjanić, who has won three Scudetti, two Coppa Italia and one Supercoppa Italiana since his transfer to Juve, joined the club from Serie A side Roma in July 2016 for $34million after spending five seasons in the Italian capital.

The Bosnia international declared he could have made the move to the club two years earlier, but opted against it due to the great competition he would have come up against at the time.

“I could have moved to Juventus two years earlier,” Pjanić told Sonny Anderson on Instagram. “I thought that I would be among the best of the time. There were [Andrea] Pirlo, [Paul] Pogba, [Arturo] Vidal, and the other exceptional players.

“They worked wonderfully. Going directly into that context would have been complicated for me. It was better for me to stay in Rome with Rudi Garcia.

“We were a good team, strong, but not like Juventus. They had a great environment. Then I said to myself that the time had come to enter the world of Juve.

“When you enter the dressing room and see the names of the legends, you can tell that the club has a great history,” Pjanić said.

“There’s the DNA of victory in everything. This club represents perfection, it’s winning because it works harder than the others.

Pjanić has stated his side ‘need some luck’ if they are to go on and win the Champions League for the third time in the club’s history. The last time the Old Lady won the trophy was back in 1995-96 after defeating Dutch side Ajax.

“Juventus’ goal will be to win it. We will also need some luck, to have the whole team available. We are one of the five or six teams who want to take it home.”

The 30-year-old has recently been linked with a move to Barcelona as part of a swap deal which would see Arthur make the move to Juventus, but according to reports, it depends on the Barça midfielder agreeing personal terms.

Should Pjanić remain at the Allianz Stadium, he could well be celebrating yet another triumph, not just domestically with another Scudetto, but could get his hands on Europe’s ultimate prize which has eluded Juve over the years and help the Bianconeri to a third Champions League title.
