Lil Uzi Vert Controls One-Fifth Of The U.S. Singles Chart This Week

As his new album Eternal Atake takes over the Billboard 200 with the second-largest debut of 2020, the tracks featured on Lil Uzi Vert’s surprise-release find their way to the Hot 100, giving him control over the all-genre songs list.

The rapper currently owns 20 positions on the most important singles ranking in the country, or exactly one-fifth of all available spots. That type of domination is rarely seen, and only a handful of acts have ever managed to score 20 (or more) placements simultaneously.

All 18 songs featured on Eternal Atake currently appear on the Hot 100, as do two other tracks that feature the rapper. 

Three Eternal Atake songs find their way into the top 10 this week upon arrival, giving him control over 30% of that tier. Only a few rappers have ever managed to debut a trio of tunes inside the region, and a fairly small number of artists of any kind have scored three smashes at one time.

This week, Lil Uzi Vert claims a lucky 13 top 40 hits, but his album has produced 14 such wins in total, as “Futsal Shuffle 2020,” which re-enters the chart at No. 48, once peaked at No. 5 in late 2019. Eternal Atake has now produced more top 40 hits than the rapper claimed before he started rolling out tracks from the album, as just nine songs with his name attached that aren’t included on his latest have broken into the region.

It’s very rare for any album to produce 13 (or 14) top 40 hits at all, let alone at one time, and Lil Uzi Vert’s showing this week is one of the most impressive of all time when looking specifically at that tier on the Hot 100.
