Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber And Drake: 5 Important Moves On This Week’s Hot 100

The top 10 on this week’s Hot 100 doesn’t feature much movement, with no new titles entering the region or making exciting pushes for the top spot…though there is plenty happening below the uppermost spaces on the tally, with a handful of acts hitting never-before-seen heights or finding themselves on the chart for the first time.

Here’s a look at five of the most important moves on this week’s Hot 100 singles chart.

No. 14 – Justin Bieber & Benny Blanco – “Lonely”

Just a few weeks after releasing his latest single “Holy” with Chance The Rapper (which returns to the top 10 on this week’s Hot 100), Justin Bieber is back with another tune. “Lonely,” which co-credits producer and writer Benny Blanco alongside the pop star, launches at No. 14 on the latest edition of the tally, narrowly missing out on becoming another top 10 for both acts.

No. 35 – Sada Baby – “Whole Lotta Choppas (ft. Nicki Minaj)”

Just a few weeks ago, hip-hop musician Sada Baby earned his first-ever placement on the Hot 100 with his viral tune “Whole Lotta Choppas,” which debuted and then quickly left the ranking. The cut returns to the chart this frame and reaches a new high now that Nicki Minaj has contributed vocals and her star power to the release. The single vaults to No. 35, giving Baby his first top 40 and Minaj her historic one hundred and thirteenth Hot 100 win.

No. 37 – Hardy – “One Beer (ft. Lauren Alaina & Devin Dawson)”

Already a favorite producer and songwriter in the country music space, Hardy’s “One Beer” has kickstarted his solo career as an artist and shown that he can craft a hit for himself as well as for others. The musician lands his first top 40 on the Hot 100, as does Devin Dawson, who is featured on the cut. Fellow credited vocalist Lauren Alaina adds to her growing total, collecting her third appearance inside the area.

No. 52 – Yung Bleu – “You’re Mines Still (ft. Drake)”

Rapper Yung Bleu appears on the Hot 100 for the first time in his career with “You’re Mines Still,” which almost begins its time on the chart in the upper half, a sign that it’s very popular upon its release. The cut benefits greatly from the inclusion of Drake, who further pads his lead as the musician with the most hits on the 100-spot ranking of all time.

No. 100 – Lady A – “Champagne Night”

The newly-renamed Lady A (formerly known as Lady Antebellum) collect their first new Hot 100 hit of 2020 with “Champagne Night,” a single they originally released back in April. The country trio took part in the reality TV show Songland, which featured the song under a different name. Now the cut has become one of the most successful launches from that program, and it continues to rise on Billboard’s country-only lists as well.
