Rudy Giuliani Associate Sentenced To One Year In Fraud Case

David Correia, 45, of Florida pleaded guilty in October to defrauding investors and making false statements to election officials.

Prosecutors said Correia and Parnas duped investors of Fraud Guarantee, a Florida start-up firm that ostensibly offered fraud protection services but that was not operational. 

Much of the more than $2 million in funds that Correia and Parnas raised from investors between 2012 and 2019 were used for personal expenses, according to the indictment, including political donations. 

Correia has also admitted he lied to Federal Election Commission officials about the origins of a $325,000 donation made to America First Action, a pro-Trump super PAC.

William Harrington, a lawyer for Correia, declined to comment when contacted by Forbes. 

Giuliani, the former New York City mayor and personal lawyer for former President Donald Trump, was promised $500,000 for work he did for Fraud Guarantee. He was not criminally charged in the case and has denied wrongdoing.
