‘The Good Fight’ Preview: Nyambi Nyambi Reveals What’s In Store For Season 4

CBS All Access show The Good Fight has explored a range of social issues and questions in its first three seasons.

Season four begins with a bang, even for Fight. The first episode of the new season, which bows today, explores a “what-if” scenario: What if Hillary Clinton had won the 2016 presidential election?

The episode examines what would be happening societally and personally to the characters on Fight. While it’s a bit of a standalone in the serialized program, it seems a good way to engage people currently playing the “what if” game about so many issues during the COVID-19 outbreak.

“The great thing about the show is that it touches on the real-life events that are happening, have just happened and we are still dealing with — we deal with it all on the show,” says Nyambi Nyambi, who plays investigator Jay Dipersia on the program.

The coronavirus cut short shooting for this season, as with so many other TV programs. Nyambi says it happened too suddenly to incorporate into any of the storylines for the shows that had already been shot.

“It happened like an avalanche and was not something we were able to deal with on the show, but there are storylines that are still very interesting and very much watercooler-inducing conversations, where we speak about the political climate and the racial climate.”

He says this season will focus a lot on conspiracy theories.

“It’s very much about secrets and conspiracies and what is true, how it’s possible to make something true when it’s a lie,” Nyambi says. “The writing is amazing, the actors are incredible. They are for the first three seasons, and they are for the fourth.”

Nyambi says his character will challenge the status quo while attempting to uphold the moral compass of the firm, which was acquired by a multinational company at the end of season three. The lawyers have trouble adjusting to the new situation.

“There’s also some really cool stuff starting to brew for my character and Marissa,” says Nyambi.
