These Are The 10 Most-Streamed Songs In The U.S. In The First Three Months Of 2020

2020 is only one-quarter of the way through, but already one song has established itself as a true powerhouse on streaming platforms. Plenty of other smashes have racked up very large play counts on sites like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, YouTube and the like, but there is one clear champion, at least three months into this year.

According to a list published by music industry publication HitsDailyDouble, Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” is the most-streamed song of 2020 in America by a massive margin. The cut, which is featured on his debut album Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial and which recently stepped off the Hot 100’s throne after 11 consecutive weeks in charge, has already racked up well over one billion streams between audio-only and video hosting sites, with only on-demand options factored into the data (which means that radio and other selections don’t count).

Ricch is not only in the lead, he is also the only act who claims more than one position inside the top 10 on the recently-shared list. The rapper’s other hit single “High Fashion” lands at No. 6 with just over 300 million plays.

“The Box” is not only the one song to reach one billion streams in the U.S. so far this year, it’s also the one tune to make it to half a billion, though another smash came very close. Future and Drake’s “Life Is Good” missed that mark by just a few million clicks, and by the time this article is published, it likely will have passed 500 million cumulative streams.

Rounding out the top five on the list of the most-streamed songs this year are breakout tracks from new artists like Arizona Zervas (“Roxanne”), Doja Cat (“Say So”) and Tones and I (“Dance Monkey”).
