What Fans Can Expect From BTS’s ‘BE’ On The Albums Charts

BTS is getting ready to release their new album BE in just under a month (it’s set to arrive on Friday, November 20), and those who love the band and have been following them for years, as well as newfound fans, can’t wait to hear what the group has cooked up this time around. In addition to the project likely being a creative force, it’s also bound to be a massive win on the charts, no matter how one looks at the numbers that will be connected to the title.

In anticipation of the exciting drop, below is a look at what fans can expect from BE when it hits Billboard’s albums charts.

Another No. 1

Is there any chance that BTS won’t debut their new album at No. 1 after its first tracking frame has passed? The band has become so massive in just a few years, there are perhaps two or three musicians who could block them from the highest rung on the Billboard 200, and at present, none of them have anything scheduled for the week in November when BE is slated to arrive.

BTS is all but assured to land another leader on the Billboard with BE, which should instantly become their fifth champion on the tally.

Their Biggest Week Yet?

Nearly every time BTS releases a new album, their first-week totals increase, sometimes considerably. Back in March, Map of the Soul: 7 arrived with 422,000 equivalent units shifted. That was easily enough to secure it the largest frame of 2020 (at least for a little while). The sum was a massive gain from their previous chart-topper, Map of the Soul: Persona, which opened with just 230,000 equivalent units (still a sizable start these days).

At present, there’s no reason to believe BE won’t kick off its time on the Billboard 200 with anything less than what Map of the Soul: 7 started with, and it would be a surprise if that were to happen.

A Massive Sales Week

With each subsequent album BTS releases, they prove over and over again that they are one of the only acts left who can rack up a massive sales frame with a new full-length. When their album Map of the Soul: 7 arrived back in early March, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with nearly 350,000 pure purchases, which is nearly unheard of these days.

BE could top that, but even if it doesn’t fans of the band are sure to show up in huge numbers to purchase a copy (or two, or three) of the new release, earning the group another massive sales frame.

Even Greater Streaming Numbers

When Map of the Soul: Persona debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in the spring of 2019, it did so with 26,000 streaming equivalent units. Less than 12 months later when Map of the Soul: 7 hit No. 1, it launched with 48,000 streaming equivalent units, a giant increase in a relatively short span of time.

The story here is that BTS is gaining a lot of ground on streaming platforms as they drop bigger and bigger hits and more and more people become fans. With one massive smash already featured on the new album (“Dynamite” made history when it rose to No. 3 on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart), BE could open with an even greater streaming sum.
