Opening Segment Featuring Paul Heyman and Jey Uso

Everybody knows Roman Reigns is setting up to turn on Jey Uso permanently except Jey Uso.

Paul Heyman calling Roman Reigns the “Tribal Chief” is going to lead to a ton of t-shirt sales in the future.

AJ Styles def. Jeff Hardy by DQ

Jeff Hardy went patriotic with his face paint with SmackDown taking place on September 11.

AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy were well on their way to having one helluva match before Sammy Zayn interrupted. What a savvy heel move.

Sammy Fake Belt will not allow an Intercontinental Championship Match to commence under his watch and I hope he eventually wins it back.

The Lucha House Party def. Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro

Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura allowed The Street Profits to hang out in their locker room during their match and got exactly what they paid for.

Based on tonight alone, WWE offered up little to no teases of a Lucha House Party split as has been the case for weeks now.

Bayley Appears Live

After cutting her hair short after turning heel the first time, I’m surprised Bayley didn’t shave her head bald for her latest heel turn.

The canned heat for this segment was very loud, further indicating how invested WWE is in this storyline.

Like an effective heel, Bayley brought up a lot of valid points despite acting in a way that cannot be supported by a reasonable person.

Alexa Bliss vs. Lacey Evans, Nikki Cross and Tamina—Fatal 4-Way

Every second Alexa Bliss is on camera, I’m expecting an exorcism.

These feel like the last days we’ll be seeing Alexa Bliss in her traditional ring gear.

The second Michael Cole said he didn’t feel like The Fiend was having an effect on Alexa Bliss, she immediately went into a trance and delivered Sister Abigail. I blame Michael Cole for all of this.

It feels like Nikki Cross has been No. 1 Contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship more times than Charlotte Flair has won it.

Otis vs. John Morrison

John Morrison is so great at comedy but as Heath Slater told me WWE tends to pigeonhole those types.

John Morrison stole the Money in the Bank briefcase last week only to find out Otis switched the contract to his lunch box. This week, Miz had the opportunity to steal both and he foolishly only stole the lunch box.

I love that it was explained how the Money in the Bank contract was non-transferrable, but Miz has a lawyer who can find a loophole as long as he has the contract. Now I’m interested in whether or not Miz and Morrison succeed in stealing this thing.

Wobbly Walrus Debuts on Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House

This segment featured a nice touch where there was a handmade “welcome” with the letters drawn in blood.

At one point, The satanic Vince McMahon puppet said “what in my home is goin on here?”

The best part of Wobbly Walrus, a clear rib on Paul Heyman, was the whimsical music.

Roman Reigns and Jey Uso vs. King Corbin and Sheaums

Roman Reigns was once again conspicuous by his absence. His next t-shirt should read “I’ll play when I want to play.”

Yes, this could have been considered more of WWE false advertising Roman Reigns’ first SmackDown match in months but it falls right in line with the ongoing heel Roman Reigns storyline.
