WWE Superstar Nia Jax Continues To Be Plagued With ‘Unsafe’ Label

WWE Superstar Kairi Sane reportedly suffered a head wound at a recent taping of Raw during a match against embattled WWE Superstar Nia Jax, who recently became the No. 1 Contender for Asuka’s WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

Sane’s match against Jax was reportedly stopped after the former Raw women’s champion threw Sane into the stair steps, causing what Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline described as a “significant” head cut. The match was resumed shortly thereafter, as Sane insisted she was fine, and the two went straight to the finish.

Jax has been plagued with one injury controversy after another throughout her tenure on the main roster, most famously injuring top star Becky Lynch with an errant punch that accidentally resulted in one of the more iconic images in WWE history.

Jax very recently was at the center of a similar controversy, also in a match against Kairi Sane, after delivering a scary-looking Buckle Bomb to the former NXT women’s champion on a taped episode of Raw.

The footage of Jax’s latest match against Sane has not aired yet, and it very likely could have been a freak accident that had little or nothing to do with Jax. But unfortunately, Jax has lost all benefit of the doubt with WWE’s fanbase, and reports of another wrestler suffering an injury in a Nia Jax match have led to familiar backlash on Twitter, with pavlovian fanatics continuing to point out Jax’s relationship with The Rock as the only reason she remains a top star.

If this injury was, indeed, caused by Nia Jax—and, honestly, even if it wasn’t—WWE now has a golden opportunity to sharpen Jax’s in-ring skills at the Performance Center, where Superstars are currently stationed for taped broadcasts of Raw and SmackDown.

Nerd rage aside, Jax has clearly demonstrated an unfavorable reputation in the ring that can still be remedied with added reps and a lengthy run of injury-free matches.

Those who shout about Jax’s relationship with The Rock are overlooking her legitimate star power and and a unique, unmistakeable presence as potentially WWE’s premiere female monster. But reports of Jax’s opponents being injured due to mistakes that are now beginning to pile up, and are creating a dangerous trend that could eventually result in catastrophe.

Recently released WWE Superstar and IMPACT signee Deonna Purrazzo told Wrestling Inc she has never walked away hurt after a match with Jax, defending the controversial star’s work:

“That last match with Nia is funny because it’s full circle. My first in NXT as extra talent was against Nia and that spans a five-year difference,” said Purrazzo.

“From day one to my last day in WWE, she has been so great. Never have I walked away hurt or banged up or feeling like I can’t work the next day. I feel the need to defend her from my point of view because I can’t say anything negative about her.”

If only Twitter felt the same way.
