Moby Grapples With ‘Too Much Change’ on Expansive New Song

Moby has shared a sprawling new song, “Too Much Change,” from his forthcoming album, All Visible Objects, out May 15th.

“Too Much Change” ebbs and flows between a soft jazz shuffle and heady ambiance before quickly ramping into a bustling dance floor beat. Singer Apollo Jane provides vocals on the song, crooning softly, “What are we supposed to feel/What are we supposed to do?/There’s too much change.”

Moby also released a video for “Too Much Change.” The clip pairs the song with excerpts from artist Lynd Ward’s 1929 wordless novel, Gods’ Man, which uses woodblock prints to tell the story of an artist who sells his soul for a magic paintbrush.

“Too Much Change” marks the second offering from All Visible Objects, following “Power Is Taken,” which featured guest vocals from the Dead Kennedys’ D.H. Peligro. The album will also feature vocalists Mindy Jones and Linton Kwesi Johnson. All Visible Objects follows Moby’s 2019 album, Long Ambients 2 and also arrives in the wake of his somewhat controversial memoir, Then It Fell Apart. Moby will donate all of his profits from All Visible Objects to an array of different charities.
